This exhibition turns the Behrensbau in Düsseldorf into a journey through seventy-five years of North Rhine-Westphalia’s history. A story about rebuilding, change, and community. The concept treats the building itself as part of the narrative, blending past and present through light, sound, and material. Visitors move through a series of immersive rooms that explore key moments, from political renewal and migration to industry, environment, culture, and media. Each space shifts in tone and texture, creating emotional connections rather than static displays. Interactive features, projections, and personal stories invite visitors to reflect and take part, while the final lounge space opens up to the future. The design combines storytelling and architecture to make history feel alive, transforming collective memory into a shared, sensory experience that celebrates NRW’s evolving identity.
